Number one is fooling yourself into thinking that since an apartment may only be temporary, you should not invest some effort into making it feel like home. Notice that I mentioned “effort” and NOT money because this is the absolute truth of the matter.
Decorating is not about how much you spend. Remember, wherever you reside is your home, which impacts your happiness; therefore, make it yours!
Years ago, we spent one month living in a camper in California – yeah, it was pretty cool. Here’s my take away – our friends lived in an RV a few feet away and brought a few items to covert their space into a cozy retreat. Guess whose RV we camped out in every night?
Of course, they had the unfair advantage of living in California and the experience of traveling often, which taught them to make their space home quickly as it will affect your mood and enjoyment of your everyday.
